Google opens access to Search Generative Experience today

Google has started to invite the first set of users to the new Search Generative Experience today. Some of you who have signed up for the waitlist should receive an email notifying you that you have access.

What Google said. “Today, we’re starting to open up access to Search Labs, a new program to access early experiments from Google,” Google wrote. “If you’ve already signed up for the waitlist at labs.google.com/search, you’ll be notified by email when you can start testing Labs experiments,” Google added.

How to try it. If you were accepted, you can opt-in to these experiments by tapping the Labs icon in the latest version of the Google app (Android and iOS) or on Chrome desktop to sign up.

Alphabet Inc.

You can also visit the Labs site to check your waitlist status, here is more on how to sign up.

Check your email. So go, check your email to see if you have access. Emails notifications are being sent out today. You can learn more over here from Google.

Once you’re in, the new generative AI powered Search experience will help you take some of the work out of searching, so you can understand a topic faster, uncover new viewpoints and insights and get things done more easily. So instead of asking a series of questions and piecing together that information yourself, Search now can do some of that heavy lifting for you, Google wrote.

Why we care. This is an experimental version of the new Google Search. Playing with this can be fun, educational and exciting. We don’t know what Google will eventually launch in the future, but this is the direction Google is thinking about now.

TikTok tests AI chatbot for search and discovery

TikTok is testing an AI chatbot in select markets. Called Tako, the AI-powered tool is meant to help TikTok users with search and discovery.

Why we care. Google has acknowledged that TikTok is a threat. So we’re watching closely as TikTok makes moves to improve search on its platform, as well as testing search ads.

What it looks like. Here’s how TechCrunch described it:

“It will appear on the right-hand side of the TikTok interface, above the user’s profile and other buttons for likes, comments and bookmarks. When tapped, users can ask Tako various questions about the video using natural language queries or discover new content by asking for recommendations.”

Here’s a screenshot:

What TikTok is saying. TikTok confirmed the AI chatbot is being tested with select users in the Philippines, via Twitter:

  • “We’re in the early stages of exploring chatbot tools with a limited test of Tako with select users in the Philippines. Tako is an AI-powered tool to help with search and discovery on TikTok. Tako is powered by a third-party chat assistant and is designed to help make it easier to discover entertaining and inspiring content on TikTok. No current plans for this beyond these early tests, but we’re excited to hear your feedback!”

Google’s TikTok threat. Google revealed a surprising stat last year: that 40% of young people go to TikTok or Instagram (not Google Maps of Search) when searching for a place to eat lunch. That was according to Google Senior Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan, citing internal research of U.S. users between the ages of 18 and 24. He also noted these newer Internet users search differently.

TikTok is not a search engine like Google, which crawls the entire web. TikTok is basically an internal search engine – like YouTube, which is often called the second biggest search engine. And this new AI chatbot, if rolled out globally, could let TikTok users discover content via chat rather than typing in a search box.

Hangout 2023: Summer’s Hottest Music Festival Returns

Home Business Magazine Online

The summer 2023 music festival season has officially begun, and Alabama certainly made a splash in the music scene last weekend (May 19th – May 21st) after it hosted the 12th annual Hangout Music Festival down on the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, AL. Hangout’s diverse and exciting lineup of both A-list headliners and rising stars brings in a wide variety of music enthusiasts from around the world to the stunning shores at the Gulf of Mexico. Hangout also brings a bevy of first-rate sponsors in to provide both an interactive marketing experience for attendees and an array of product samples and demonstrations. With over 30,000 swimsuit-wearing attendees at this year’s event, Hangout Music Festival absolutely delivered on its promise of an unforgettable musical paradise with its blend of top-notch performances and beachside fun.

Hangout’s stacked star-studded lineup included prominent stars from a wide variety of genres, catering to any musical experience an attendee is looking for, from high-energy to more lowkey vibes. Friday started the weekend off on the hottest note with energetic and provocative performances by Tove Lo and RUSS at the Hangout stage and Lil Nas X at the SHEIN Surf stage, along with head-bopping sets by Gryffin at the SHEIN Surf stage, Two Feet, and REZZ. Unfortunately, Rainbow Kitten Surprise had to drop out of the festival but was fortunately replaced by the widely-acclaimed Louis The Child at the Hangout stage, who just happened to be attending the festival! Finally, Red Hot Chili Peppers turned back the clock to simpler times with a nostalgic rock set at the Hangout stage to close out the night.

Saturday was a great day to taste test many different genres of music with performances all around the musical spectrum. The main acts of Big Wild at the Shein Surf stage and COIN at the Hangout stage started out the day with energetic beats to beautiful vocals that both revived the crowd and got them ready for the rest of the exciting day. AJR took the Hangout stage later on with a highly-interactive set that included both past hits and new ones, followed by a mesmerizing performance by Flume that was perfectly timed with the colorful sunset. Paramore brought the nostalgic punk-rock vibes that kept everyone jumping in the sand to every relatable lyric. Finally, SZA closed out the day at the Hangout stage with a vibrant performance that captured both her vocal capabilities and her exquisite choreography and artistic touches.

Although the last and usually most exhausting day of the festival, Sunday still brought in notable headliners that kept even the most fatigued attendee energized from sunrise to sunset. The day started off on an exciting note with Yung Gravy bringing the heat early in the day at the Hangout stage; his performance hilariously ended with him falling over while handing out roses to a lucky few in the crowd. The people suffering from the sunday scaries chilled out to beautiful and more low-key performances by Said the Sky at the smaller BOOM stage and Noah Kahan at the SHEIN Surf stage, while turning the energy back up during Elohim at the Monster Energy Tent and Ashnikko at the SHEIN Surf stage. Finally, Skrillex‘s long-awaited return to the SHEIN Surf stage whipped everyone’s heads a full 180 degrees with his head-bang-worthy bass. Calvin Harris closed out the 3-day festival on the highest note with an electrifying Hangout stage set that included all of his popular hits, giving the crowd a festival glow for days to come.

Hangout didn’t just include exhilarating beachside musical performances — it also had many attractions that kept attendees busy with activities in between concerts. These included a Ferris Wheel running constantly throughout the weekend to give attendees a full view of both the festival grounds and the 6 stages, beach volleyball for groups of friends or strangers to play together, roller skating for both the seasoned skaters and the uncoordinated (they had rolling walkers), and hammocks throughout the beach and water for a way to relax and unwind after a tiring set of jumping to the beats. There was also a wide array of art installations throughout the festival, allowing for both endless photo opportunities for the festival squads and a marketing opportunity for sponsors.

Festival Goers enjoyed the vibrant backdrop at the Aperol Booth.

Sponsors and vendors of the festival marketed their brands and products by providing a unique experience with interactive onsite activations for the festivalgoers. Sponsors of this event were well known and influential brands, including SHEIN, Corona, Autograph, Malibu, M&Ms, Monster, Coca Cola, Teva, Cuerco Tradicional, Tanqueray, Bronco, Jim Beam, Dove, Aperol 1919, Beatbox, Elite Wear, Twisted Sweet Tea Whiskey, Marriott Bonvoy, Sharetea, Inweekly, Propeller, and Brett/Robinson Vacations. These amazing sponsors provided their own inimitable pop-ups and opportunities to get involved and promote the product to the Hangout Festival consumers.

SHEIN

Book & Magazine Retailers

As the top sponsor of the Hangout Music Festival, SHEIN had a huge opportunity to showcase its prominence in the beachwear industry. SHEIN Surf stage was one of two main stages at the festival, showcasing the brand to virtually everyone at the festival. SHEIN’s Surf Club at the festival was the most brightly colored station at the festival grounds. It featured a walk-in cabana with a viewing desk for the perfect view of the SHEIN Surf Stage. SHEIN also offered complimentary accessories for the perfect addition to any beach outfit, along with refreshing tropical drinks and popsicles for guests to cool down during the sunny performances. SHEIN debuted SHEIN x Hangout Music Fest, a collaboration with the festival that was dedicated to comfortable beachwear one can easily take to a beachside music festival and dance all day in the sand. SHEIN also featured different photo opportunities throughout the cabana, notably a model jet ski for guests to sit on and take their glamorous “ocean life” instagram photo.

Corona

Guests enjoyed the beachside hammock at the Corona Private Beach.

Known for its light and refreshing taste, Corona was the perfect beer to sponsor an event dedicated to fun under the sun. Often associated with beachside vacations, Corona brought the laid-back vibe to a dedicated spot right between the two main stages where guests could take a pit stop to grab a drink, go down to the waters of the Gulf through a dedicated 21+ beach entrance, play bags, or even participate in the exciting games of beach volleyball located within the Corona area.

Monster Energy

Coca-Cola
Monster Energy’s Electrifying Stage at Hangout Music Festival.

Monster has been a prominent sponsor of Hangout Music Festival for a while — so much so that the smaller EDM stage is dedicated to it! Notable performers at this stage included Night Tales, Dr. Fresch, and ELOHIM. Monster always brings the energy back into the Hangout crowd with endless samples of their featured energy drinks. A common favorite this year was their new extra fruity Ultra Strawberry Dreams energy drink. There was also an exclusive entrance to the beach through the Monster Energy stage for guests to enjoy the music from the water. The Monster Energy stage even included hammocks for guests to properly rest while recharging. Thousands would flock to this area each day of the festival in search of their afternoon energy drink pick-me-up along with the bumping beats the EDM artists bring.

M&Ms

coconut telephone booths

M&Ms was a highly anticipated sponsor this year. With their colorful station right near the east entrance of the festival, thousands of guests were able to interact with their exciting activation. They handed out M&M-inspired bucket hats that were then seen all throughout the festival. This reversible hat was the perfect accessory to wear at their photobooth that featured a colorful logo background. Everyone flocked to the booth each day to grab their own reversible bucket hat along with samples of peanut butter M&Ms and their newest flavor — caramel cold brew. It was the perfect touch of sweetness to the salty summer day at the beach!

Coca Cola

Corona Private Beach

Coca Cola also had a huge activation at the festival, with thousands flocking to the prominent bright red tent located at the center of the festival. Along with samples and information about various Coca Cola drinks, festival attendees also enjoyed the merch given out by the activation — red fans that were on display all throughout the crowds at the festival. Fans given out as merch is a unique way that Coca Cola was able to provide a branded product that was both extremely useful under the beating sunshine and a clever way to get the brand name out to thousands of potential consumers. Everyone who saw the fans everywhere wanted to race to the Coca Cola tent to get their own branded fan!

Malibu Rum

Another well-known sponsor Malibu Rum returned with their exciting Malibu setup. Their tent reimagines Malibu as more than just a rum, but as a place where you step into a hyperreal world where everyone is unplugged and can unabashedly embrace the things they love – because life’s too short not to Do Whatever Tastes Good! Walking through the portal, you are transported to a 3-D island oasis paradise. This experience featured an interactive sunny-themed wall with vibrantly colored coconut telephone booths for photos, a vibrantly mint green bike for more photo ideas, an exclusive bar for cocktails on draft and frozen, and refreshing Malibu cocktails in a can. Their drinks were also featured throughout the festival at the different unsponsored bars. Perfect way to cool down from the strong Alabama sun!

Tanquray Offers Drinks in the VIP Section at Hangout Music Festival.

Other alcohol brands featured at the festival included Cuerco Tradicional, Tanqueray, Jim Beam, Aperol 1919, Beatbox, and Twisted Sweet Tea Whiskey. Each had their one unique branded booth that allowed guests a fun photoshoot opportunity, drinks for purchase, and branded swag.

Hangout offers a great way to connect sponsors and on-site vendors with a diverse market of potential consumers. Sponsors and vendors of the festival can market their brands and products using their unique booths, samples, games, and other onsite activations to allow the festivalgoers to try out their product. They have the opportunity to create a memorable experience for the consumer that will positively reflect the brand and generate repeat customers.

Electronic music
Sunsets at Hangout Music Festival are unlike any other.

The Hangout Music Festival truly delivered the ultimate trifecta of music festivals with a diverse and exciting lineup, a beautiful beachside location, and a uniquely euphoric and vibrant atmosphere that made for the best way to start off the 2023 summer festival season. It was a fun-filled weekend full of excitement, smile lines, endless photo opportunities all weekend, sunshine (and some sunburns) and unforgettable memories. Each day’s lineup of performers was spectacular and major national brands had the chance to promote their products and services to a mass of excited consumers and potential new customers. In all, the entire Hangout Music Festival was a sensational experience that will only get better and better every year. We certainly brought the sand back home with us and we look forward to coming back in the future to experience more.

How Often Do GDPR Laws Change?

Home Business Magazine Online

The change to GDPR law is up there with the Twin Towers and Diana: “Where were you when the GDPR laws were put into place?” Such was the chaos of the day as people who had no business understanding anything of IT, compliance, or data privacy, grappled with what this new acronym meant and how to enact it. The 23rd of May 2018 was the day that changed website compliance forever. Five years on, almost to the day, has anything changed? Is the same law enacted? What is the purpose of it? And is there any other way we take control of our data? We’re exploring what has changed since the GDPR laws were put into effect and what needs done to keep in line with them.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation laws were put into place by the European Union and therefore say that any website taking data from EU citizens should first ask for permission to use the data. This is why users in Europe will have a pop-up whenever they enter any website that asks them to “accept” what the website’s company intends to do with your data, often with an option to read more into it or to deny these terms.

This detail is the most obvious of the laws, which covers lots of regulations on data protection and privacy and outlines the rights of the user and the control of their data. This is just one of many ways that users can control their presence on the internet. Services like Incogni deal with data brokers to help manage your digital footprint.

When was the last update on GDPR?

The answer here is two-fold. Although there haven’t been any sweeping changes to the laws, individual countries, and the EU itself keep the GDPR laws under constant review and there have been slight amendments made to individual countries’ take on the GDPR laws. For example, the “UK GDPR” offers all the same rights and obligations as the EU GDPR laws and sits alongside it as a regulatory law for any business operating in the vicinity.

What rights do the GDPR laws offer?

Eight laws are outlined in the GDPR laws. These are made up of…

  • The right to be informed, wherein a website must outline how they intend to use user data, typically in a site’s privacy policy.
  • The right to access, where if a user asks to see the data gathered on them, the website owner must hand it over, usually in CSV.
  • The right to rectification, wherein the user has the right to change or correct data that is wrong.
  • The right to erasure, wherein the user can delete data.
  • The right to restrict processing, where the site owner can collect the data but not process it.
  • The right to portability or the right to use their own data for their own purposes.
  • The right to object, specifically to having their data used in the ways outlined in your site’s privacy policy.
  • Rights pertaining to automatic decision making such as profiling. The GDPR laws outline requirements for using data for automatic decision making, such as targeted marketing.

Maintenance Tips for Keeping Your Concrete Driveway in Good Condition

Home Business Magazine Online

Concrete driveways are like your teeth. No matter how strong and tough they are built, they still need protection and care to keep them healthy.

As a homeowner, you know that your concrete driveway is vital to your property. It’s the gateway that brings you and your visitors to your abode and a spot where you can securely park your automobile.

Neglecting your driveway can result in costly repairs and replacements. How can you avoid this?

Go over the tips prepared in this article. Learn how to maintain your concrete driveway so that it lasts a lifetime.

Maintaining Your Concrete Driveway: Essential Tips from Real Estate Experts

Neglecting either of them can result in costly repairs and replacements. According to real estate experts, a well-maintained driveway can increase the value of your property by up to 10%.

Here are some essential tips from real estate experts on how to maintain your concrete driveway:

Regular Cleaning

Similar to your oral hygiene, it is essential to regularly sweep up the grime and litter that can accumulate on your driveway.

According to Concrete Driveways Orlando experts, pioneer driveway contractors, pressure washing your driveway at least once a year can extend its lifespan by up to 10 years.

Use a pressure washer or a broom to clean your driveway regularly to remove any dirt, grime, or stains. This will also prevent any damage caused by harsh chemicals or debris.

Sealing

Sealing your concrete driveway is like applying a protective coating to your teeth. It helps to prevent any damage caused by weather, spills, or debris. There are two types of sealers that you can use: penetrating and surface sealers.

A penetrating sealer will seep into the concrete and provide protection from within, while a surface sealer will sit on top of the concrete and provide a protective layer. You can see photos of sealed driveways here at https://www.concreteresurfacingorlando.com/ and compare them to regular unsealed ones. The difference is huge.

Sealing your driveway every 2-3 years can extend its lifespan by up to 25 years.

Repairing Cracks

Your driveway may also develop cracks over time. These cracks can be caused by various factors, such as weather, traffic, or settling.

It’s important to repair any cracks as soon as possible to prevent them from worsening. You can use a concrete patching compound to repair any cracks or hire a professional to do it for you.

Preventative Measures

Just like brushing your teeth regularly to prevent cavities, you can take preventative measures to keep your driveway healthy.

The National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), repairing cracks that are less than 1/8 inch can prevent water from seeping in and causing more damage.

Use a snowblower instead of a shovel to clear snow from your driveway, as shoveling can cause damage. Also, avoid using deicing chemicals as they can cause damage to the concrete.

Regular Maintenance

Just like how you visit the dentist regularly to keep your teeth healthy, you should also maintain your driveway regularly. A team of pros can offer routine check-ups for the core surfaces in your outdoors. This includes cleaning your driveway, repairing cracks, and applying sealers as needed.

Regular maintenance will prevent any major issues from occurring and will extend the life of your driveway.

Wrapping Up

Neglecting your driveway can result in costly repairs and replacements. Following these tips, you can keep your driveway healthy and avoid major issues. Remember, just like how you care for your teeth, you should also take care of your driveway.

How to do B2B content marketing the right way (with 5 examples)

Here we are over two decades into the 2000s, but bad B2B content marketing still exists.

Digital content marketing has existed for at least 10 years, but some businesses still make elementary mistakes that wreck their potential for results.

That’s a shame because most content marketers (71%) will tell you that content has only become more important over time.

Importance of B2B content marketing

Most buyers easily ignore ads and actively search out content to help them make purchase decisions (70% of buyers read at least 3-5 pieces of content before talking to a salesperson).

Truly, the businesses that do B2B content marketing right have a giant competitive advantage.

So, what does the right way look like?

Let’s explore both sides of the coin so you can see exactly how to do content marketing the right way.

First: The wrong way to do B2B content marketing

The only way to learn the right way to do content marketing is to understand the wrong way, first. Here are six major no-nos.

1. Not creating a content marketing strategy

This is the biggest sin of content marketing.

If you’re lacking a strategy, you can’t expect consistent results. (A content strategy is a plan that maps out how you’ll create, publish, distribute, and promote content to grow your brand.)

Sure, one of your shots may land. Maybe you’ll create a blog post that gets attention. Maybe your website traffic will spike for a week. Maybe you’ll earn some leads.

But that will come down to mostly luck. And it won’t last because you won’t have a plan in place that keeps your content consistent in quality, frequency, look/feel, and impact.

You need more than luck if you expect your content marketing to help grow your business over time. You need a plan of action. You need to create content from a place of anticipating and fulfilling user needs.

To be effective in the long term, content marketing can’t be reactive or ad hoc. Instead, it needs to be proactive and strategic.

If content marketing is the vehicle, then content strategy is the engine. You can’t race down the road to results without it.

2. Not focusing on your target audience and customers

Many businesses start with content marketing by first thinking about themselves. What could they share? They brainstorm topics based on what’s important to them and what they know.

Huge mistake.

What they don’t realize: Your content should never be focused inwards. It doesn’t matter what you want or what the brand wants.

The vital step is to turn outwards. What does the audience want? What’s important to them? How does this intersect with what you sell?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions, that’s a huge problem you can only rectify with audience research – especially by talking directly to your prospects.

Unfortunately, most businesses make the mistake of not talking to their customers:

"We're not talking to our customers in a research capacity"

You have an entirely different set of concerns and needs versus your audience. You can’t expect to understand their perspective out of hand. That’s guesswork.

Bottom line: Don’t rely on your assumptions about your audience. Don’t guess what’s important to them. And don’t make the mistake of only writing about what matters to you when creating content.

3. Selling versus helping

Imagine this scenario:

You have a question only Google can answer. You consult the search engine. The top result looks promising like it might have the exact information you need. You click.

You can’t read further than the headline because your screen is immediately swallowed by a pop-up asking you to subscribe. “But I haven’t even read anything yet!” you think to yourself.

You click out of the pop-up and begin to scroll, but there’s a banner ad under the first paragraph, and in the next section, the business ungracefully segues into talking about itself and its service.

Where is the information you were promised?

“Yuck,” you think. You click the “X.”

This is a prime example of selling versus helping in content – a big no-no.

Remember, readers aren’t coming to your content to read a sales pitch. They’re looking for information: answers, advice, facts, help, data.

Giving them what they need is one of the main ways you’ll build trust with them, which will lead to bigger gains if you’re consistently doing that over and over.

Content marketing is never about selling. It’s about helping above all.

4. Not promoting your content

If you post a blog and don’t promote it, does it really exist?

No. Because that blog will get zero traffic if no one knows about it. And content with zero traffic is worthless.

You need people reading your content to see any benefits from content marketing. And you’ll have a much better chance of that happening if you promote it.

This doesn’t have to be fancy. Post it on social media. Send out an email telling your subscribers about it.

Never publish something only to let it sit festering on your website. Make sure people know it’s there so they can read it, use it, love it, and ultimately draw closer to your brand because of it.

You can’t do content marketing without SEO. And you can’t do SEO without content marketing.

They work together symbiotically in a beautiful balance.

That also means trying to do one without the other is asking for failure.

Let’s put it this way:

  • Good content is helpful, solves problems, and builds trust with your prospects.
  • Good SEO ensures that people searching for your keywords can discover your content in search engines.
  • Following the rules of SEO also improves your content’s quality and the user experience on your website.

If you’re going to do B2B content marketing, don’t leave home without SEO and well-optimized content.

6. Expecting results immediately

One of the major fumbles you can make with B2B content marketing is giving up too early.

On average, it can take as long as six months to a year to start seeing results.

This length of time will shift depending on the size of your business, your goals, and your strategy. But in every single case, content marketing does not work overnight or instantly.

It’s a slow burn to success. But once you start seeing results, they should compound over time

That’s because the great content you published one week ago, one month ago, and one year ago will continue to bring in traffic and leads long after their initial publish date. As long as you’re strategic, your B2B content marketing will be sustainable.

But you have to be patient to wait for that ROI (return on investment) to start appearing.

The right way to do B2B content marketing: 5 examples

B2B content marketing done right looks like these five examples. Study these brands and their content to see the light.

Giving the people what they want: Grammarly

Grammarly

Grammarly knows its audience and creates blog topics that match the questions they’re asking in Google.

That means the brand is not creating posts like “the best editing app for your business” or “why you need an editing app.”

For example, this blog on how to write collaboratively speaks to professionals and students, Grammarly’s target audience. This is a topic they actually struggle with, especially in our world of remote work and Zoom meetings.

Grammarly also creates content to answer common grammar questions people search for such as “when to use over vs. more than” or “when to use who vs. whom.” Grammarly is outwardly focused on what its target audience needs and wants from its content.

Consistency matters: Orbit Media

Orbit Media

A regular cadence of content going out on your blog is important for consistency, but so is updating old content so it remains fresh and relevant.

Orbit Media does this well with their blogging survey, which they update with new data and insights every year.

Note that this is a complete update, too. They have resent the survey, collected and compiled the answers, and analyzed them for insights every year since 2014. Then they rewrite the post and update the graphics. Now that’s consistent.

Winning at optimization: Zapier

Zapier

To see a winning combination of content + SEO, look at Zapier

Zapier makes automation software, but they’re ranking for terms like “best to-do lists” and “AI image generator.” How? Why?

Zapier integrates with apps like these. That’s how they make relevant content for seemingly random keywords.

However, the point is that it works – the company ranks highly for these keywords and pulls in nearly 1 million in traffic monthly, as this case study shows.

Digital marketing

Helping vs. selling: LendingClub

LendingClub offers customers personal and business loans, banking, and investing services. Their blog content is a great example of helping vs. selling.

The emphasis is on education, and when services are mentioned, it’s discreet and relevant to the discussed topic.

LendingClub

A giant of B2B content marketing: HubSpot

HubSpot is a giant in their industry for many reasons, but a major one is its content marketing.

With a vast, robust, consistent blog that produces targeted, high-quality content, plus a strategy that rakes in subscribers and leads with “content upgrades,” it’s no wonder this brand pulls in over six million people to its website annually. (This Sumo report shows just how staggering HubSpot’s success is.)

HubSpot

It’s time to do B2B content marketing the right way

If you long to see the types of results enjoyed by the top B2B brands doing content marketing, know that it’s not out of reach.

What do you need to do, most of all?

Commit.

Content marketing takes a commitment of the highest order to work.

You need to be committed to a strategy, committed to your audience, committed to quality, and committed to being patient as you wait for ROI.

But that commitment is worth it because content marketing is profitable, affordable, sustainable, and what customers want to see from brands.

You just have to do it the right way.

Google Search of today won’t exist in 10 years, says DeepMind co-founder

Google will look much different in 2033 – where conversation is the interface rather than the search box.

That’s according to Mustafa Suleyman, cofounder of DeepMind (which Google bought in 2014), in an interview on the No Priors Podcast.

Why we care. ChatGPT, the new Bing and Google’s new Search Generative Experience are all huge signals of a major shift in search. Clearly, nothing will change immediately. But in the coming years these changes could potentially upend the way Google – as the dominant search engine – has shaped the web and, as a byproduct, SEO and PPC.

The search dialogue. Google is “an appallingly painful” conversation right now, where the answer comes in the form of 10 blue links (though Suleyman didn’t mention all the search features and ads that also act as “answers” on today’s SERPs).

Google learns from the results people click on, how long they spend on websites and whether they come back to the search box to refine their search or click on other results. He added:

  • “The problem is [Google’s] using 1980s Yellow Pages to have that conversation. And actually now we can do that conversation in fluent natural language.”

Google rewards engagement, not answers. Google has shaped content production in a way that favors optimizing for ads and rewards content creators for keeping people on pages longer, Suleyman said.

  • “You go on a webpage and all the text has been broken out into sub bullets and subheaders separated by ads. You spend five to seven or 10 seconds just scrolling through the page to find the snippet of the answer that you actually wanted. But most of the time you’re just looking for a quick snippet. … that looks like high-quality content to Google and it’s ‘engaging’.”

From ‘speaking Google’ to ‘speaking to AI.’ Suleyman believes we’re nearing a point where searchers will no longer have to think “How do I change my query and write this?”

  • “We’ve learned to speak Google. It’s a crazy environment. We’ve learned to Google, right? That’s just a weird lexicon that we’ve co-developed with Google over 20 years. No, now that has to stop. That’s over. That moment is done and we can now talk to computers in fluent natural language, and that is the new interface.”

Bottom line. Suleyman believes Google should be “pretty worried” that the Google search we know today won’t be the same in 10 years.

  • “It’s not going to happen overnight. There’s going to be a transition. But these kind of succinct, dynamic, personalized, interactive moments are clearly the future in my opinion.”

Google CEO on Search in 10 years. In a recent interview, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was asked whether we are nearing the end of link-based search and 10 blue links. Pichai said search will be “more ambiently available to users in radically different ways” compared to today, adding:

  • “I think the experience will evolve substantively over the next decade. We have to meet users in terms of what they are looking for.”

Lessons for Business Leaders: What Can the Top iGaming Brands Teach Us?

Home Business Magazine Online

Running your own home-based business is exciting, rewarding and satisfying. It can also bring its own challenges to overcome and issues to solve! One thing any savvy home business owner needs to keep an eye on is sustained growth over time. Planning for this helps your company to remain profitable and to not only retain existing customers but also engage new ones.

But where do you start with this if you are new to running a home business or are out of ideas? It can often be useful to look around at sectors other than your own to take best practices from. iGaming is a vibrant industry right now and one that has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years. As a result, business leaders can learn some key lessons from the top iGaming brands, especially when it comes to offering free casino games, managing deposits and withdrawals, and providing a seamless gambling experience.

But what can the best internet casinos teach us?

Innovation and forward-thinking are key

One lesson business owners can take from iGaming is the importance of constant innovation and forward planning. If you look at the iGaming sector now and compare it to where it was 10 years ago, it is clear how central these concepts have been to its progress.

The top online casino brands constantly look for new ways to attract players and new features which help them stay ahead of their rivals. This could be new rewards to include in bonus packages, new types of games to carry or new ways for customers to deposit money. Even the studios who provide casino game platforms do this and are always dreaming up new gameplay features or new themes to use in their titles.

This idea of constant innovation to grow your business and stay ahead of the competition is very important. By focusing on where you need to head next and what new ideas, services or products will get you there, you will stand out from the crowd.

Customer service is paramount

The top brands within iGaming put a lot of focus on offering the best support to customers. This could be in terms of the languages they offer support in or how people can get in touch with them. Many iGaming sites now enable people to contact them via live chat, email, social media and phone.

In addition, the best online casino gaming brands respond quickly to queries in a professional and knowledgeable manner. All this combined offers a top-class experience to customers and leaves them feeling valued. As a result, these same customers are likely to remain loyal to the casino and speak positively about it to friends.

This notion of outstanding customer support is something all business leaders should take note of. By making the effort in your own company to offer these levels of service, you can also build up a loyal customer base who will tell everyone they meet how great you are.

Don’t forget about mobile customers

When you consider that there were an estimated 7.26 billion mobile users worldwide in 2022, it is clear what a huge market mobile is. iGaming has been quick to notice and quick to respond to this growing market.

All the best online casino brands now either offer dedicated apps to game on or allow people to play directly from their mobile web browser. In addition, online casinos are careful to ensure mobile players get the same experience and features as desktop customers.

Due to the ability to integrate mobile play into their business model, top iGaming brands have been able to attract mobile players and increase their customer base. Any business leader in any sector can learn from this and should take the time to serve mobile customers.

This may be ensuring your online store is mobile friendly for example or enabling people to use mobile payment solutions if you sell items directly from your own home. By getting up to speed with mobile and making it a part of what you do, you are opening your home business up to a much wider audience.

Use rewards and promotions

Another lesson business leaders can learn from top iGaming brands is how effective promotions and rewards can be. While there are several reasons the whole online casino industry has taken off recently, the bonuses that platforms give out are one of the most important.

This can include anything from welcome bonuses to reward new players for signing up to ongoing promotions to reward the loyalty of existing players. Many casino brands will also have loyalty and VIP programs to keep current players coming back.

But why does this prove to be so effective in attracting new customers for iGaming brands and holding onto existing ones? It all comes down to the fact that people love getting something for nothing and how bonuses enable people to engage with brands more easily.

If you don’t currently use rewards or promotions in your home-based business, it is worth thinking about. Whether it is discount coupons for new customers or exclusive offers for existing ones, they can be a great way to connect with people on a deeper level.

Top iGaming brands have key lessons for business

If you are a home-based business owner, finding ways to continually develop personally and grow your business overall is essential. It can often prove interesting to look around at other sectors for inspiration in this regard. The top iGaming brands are a great example and certainly have plenty of lessons to teach us all.
