Do you ask them for feedback on whether your services are meeting their expectations? Do you go beyond accounting to offer advice on other aspects of their businesses, such as ways to finance growth or why they should start a retirement plan? The more involved you become in the minutia of your clients’ finances, the better you will be equipped to suggest additional services. Schedule a few mid-year meetings to go over any questions or consulting the client may need. Conduct some surveys (or ask in-person) to get feedback on how well your services suited their needs and any other services they wish you provided.
