How SEOs can embrace AI-powered search

The race toward AI-powered search is heating up. Microsoft has Bing Chat while Google has Bard.

Yet, many are concerned about what all these developments mean for content creators and the larger publishing industry.

Embracing AI in search is inevitable. But the issues causing some SEOs to grumble must also be addressed.

In this article, I’ll look back at Google’s history with AI and what SEOs can do to keep up with changing times.

Google’s long history of AI

Google has been into AI for quite a few years. Each time the search engine introduces AI technology, there is an outcry.

Remember RankBrain? Rolled out in 2015, it was the first in a long line of AI technologies Google introduced to its search engine algorithms for ranking purposes and beyond.

This is a big progress that most of us take for granted.

Until a few years ago, Google matched keywords with pages containing them, not knowing whether such a resource was really dealing with what you were looking for.

Nowadays, we expect Google to understand what we are searching for instead of just matching keywords to content.

Semantic search (or “meaningful” search) is still a new development and rarely fully understood.

Spamming AI is inefficient – finally, SEO can grow up

Spammers have been trying to game Google, despite the many complicated elements needed to rank in search. They are attempting to abuse AI technology to fool Google and searchers alike again.

No wonder Google stays a step ahead and presents an AI that will actively sift through results and respond in human language.

Now ethical SEOs can finally rejoice. Spammers can’t trick AI with their simplistic ways of fooling particular ranking factors.

With machine learning, Google can more efficiently locate and determine fishy-looking results.

Those who follow the path less traveled and invest in actual work instead of looking for shortcuts will be rewarded.

SEO can finally grow up as a discipline, and those SEOs who still think they can cheat like kids in school will have to grow up individually.

From People also ask (PAA) questions and answers to AI-enhanced ones

In the past, Google was merely looking whether they could find a matching question when you asked it something. Nowadays, they can directly search for the answer.

So instead of just locating forums or Q&A sites like Quora that had the same question asked, they serve the web pages that already answer the question without mentioning it in many cases.

Isn’t it great? The old way was quite cumbersome to optimize for. You had to repeat the questions in a FAQ style and then answer them very specifically.

Now Google sifts through your existing content and distills the answers.

This is what PAA results are often about. Yet AI makes this process even more sophisticated and streamlined. In the best case, you can talk to an AI instead of searching for more questions and answers.

Fear is usually irrational and often based on survival instincts

Why are so many people afraid of the new Bard AI by Google? Does it make sense? Let’s take a step back and look at fear in general.

When you examine why you are afraid, you will realize that fear is literally usually irrational and, in many cases, solely an automatic response to unknown situations

It is based on primitive survival instincts built into your “lizard brain,” which we inherited during evolution from our amphibian ancestors from millions of years ago.

Are you a lizard? No. We’re not living in the jungle anymore.

So why is Google Bard so scary? Well, it’s new. We don’t know what to expect from it.

It means change is coming. People are afraid of change in general. They prefer their stable routine because it does make them feel safe.

Will Bard make SEO redundant and publishers go out of business?

Well, Google relies on content creators to give them the fodder Bard needs to spit out its answers.

They can’t destroy the publishing industry or they would cut the tree branch they are sitting on, as a German saying goes.

So sooner or later, the pressure from outside and inside Google will force them to cite sources and remunerate publishers accordingly.

How to deal with Google’s Bard? Speak up!

Sadly, as of now, it seems that some of the worst fears SEOs and publishers have voiced are not completely irrational.

Google’s early versions of Bard do not seem to credit sources properly, as they lack citations.

One of the first experts to report this was popular search pundit Glenn Gabe who also shared examples from his own site and other disgruntled content creators on Twitter to illustrate this.

“Yep, I have seen answers from my posts show up via Bard too. (…) Google is saying that the search implementation should include links downstream. We’ll see how that goes. I’ll be watching closely”.

Henry Powderly, Vice President of Content at Insider Intelligence, summarizes the issue pretty poignantly on LinkedIn:

“This is why content creators are so worried about AI, especially in the context of search.

The premise of AI is that nothing is original and every response is the result of the AI being trained on a vast library of information created by others (such as the internet).

Google’s citation policy is disappointing, and it exposes again the perils of the Faustian bargain publishers and creators made with platforms.”

(I added a paragraph for white space and fixed a typo in the original quote.)

Sean Work, founder at Judicuos Inc., also points out commenting below that post:

“Yeah, it doesn’t look good. And it doesn’t solve the biggest problem I find with AI search: how do you know if the info is correct if you can’t inspect the sources? I’ve found plenty of wrong info so far.”

Bing, on the other hand, credits content creators with their AI-assisted answers. There are inline links leading to sources.

The implementation is still imperfect as there are mainly tiny numbers in superscript, like in scientific footnotes instead of full anchor text links, but it’s a start.

That’s very similar to some of the AI-based answers they introduced back in 2017 already. So it’s technically possible. It’s also ethically viable that way.

It seems we still need some mounting pressure on Google due to this lack of proper credits issue, so they are compelled to act on behalf of content creators. So it’s time to speak up!

Otherwise, we may have to wait years until lawmakers make the case for publishers. By then, many of them may be bankrupt already.

Remember that fear and resulting anger only lead to hotheaded actions that usually backfire as your opponents will harden and merely defend themselves when attacked. Aim for an honest debate.

A broad coalition of content creators and publishers could turn the tide.

In the past, I have witnessed Google backtracking on or fixing controversial features based on massive-scale user (and other) feedback.

Google has already started focusing on human authors in their latest E-E-A-T driven “about this author” and other search features focusing on content creators that allow users to verify information.

Why not credit authors on AI search as well?

How to optimize for Google’s Bard

Pressure on Google is one thing. Facing the reality of AI-assisted chatbot features in search individually is another.

So assuming that some features will be fine-tuned while others may stay the same, here are some early ideas on optimizing for Google’s Bard as an SEO practitioner.

As of writing this, I can’t access Bard features myself yet. The beta testing is limited to the U.S. and UK markets, and I live in Germany.

Nonetheless, based on the first glimpses of how Bard appears to work and what it looks like, I already had some ideas on what SEO for it could mean.

Keep calm and SEO on

First off, I’ve seen Q&A search features and chatbot hypes in the past already.

Do you remember Wolfram Alpha (a.k.a., the AI-powered “Google killer”)

It works similarly to Google’s and Bing AI’s features now do. You got answers instead of search results. Yet where is Wolfram Alpha now, many years after the hype?

It has a tiny but dedicated user base of geeks and scientists.

Likewise, most websites that introduced chatbots in recent years had poor user experience, which only managed to annoy and postpone actual human contact

Personally, I haven’t seen a single chatbot on a website that wasn’t merely distracting and kept me waiting in line longer for actual people to show up.

So will people want to converse with Google instead of quickly achieving something as they do now?

Some will, but the majority may just be satisfied with searching.

Also, a search engine based on questions (i.e.,  Ask Jeeves (later Ask.com) has failed. History may be repeating here.

When Microsoft added an “intelligent” assistant to Office many years ago, it quickly became the epicenter of ridicule on the web. Another Microsoft AI chatbot got demoted due to racist slurs it started spitting out after a few days of public usage.

AI is smarter now, but can it assist us in day-to-day tasks without stealing our time?

In most cases, searchers are in a hurry and want quick solutions. When AI can provide them, they will use AI.

Chatting with Google for longer periods of time will be the exception.

So keep calm and keep on taking care of best practices like:

  • Market and keyword research.
  • Helpful content creation.
  • Attracting links and exposure.

Modern SEO is already well equipped to optimize for AI-assisted searches as well.

Ask and answer questions

One thing is obvious when it comes to AI-enhanced search features: they are mostly about questions and conversations.

  • Instead of searching for keywords, we chat with Google or Bing.
  • Instead of seeing search result snippets, features or even ads, we see answers written in full sentences.
  • Instead of searching once or searching and returning, we actually talk to AI.

The conversational search feature is no surprise, given the main AI use case is chatbot functionality.

Many – even inside Google – argue that chatbot features are no replacement for actual search

And indeed, once you want to know more about a particular query and answer, Google sends you back to search results where the actual answer is part of a featured snippet.

It’s also a logical continuation of the PAA or “people also ask” implementation that boomed on Google in recent years.

It was already assumed that these questions weren’t only asked by Google users but also autogenerated. The responses are rewritten or molded out of many search results.

As of now, the AI responses are considered “original content” by Google, so there are no direct links to sources. What does this mean? Get your product, service and brand mentioned in the actual answer.

In the best case, you can respond to a question about yourself, and Google will sample it using their AI.

So when someone would ask: what is the best resource for search marketing news?

You ideally have a page or post stating exactly that: Search Engine Land is the best source for search marketing news.

Of course, you don’t want to brag about yourself and declare you are the best without someone else saying that. Once someone did, you ideally quote them on your about or testimonial page.

Make sure to also link that original page by the person praising you so that Google also features it in the AI answers.

With other questions, it will be easier. Just describe:

  • How your product or service is useful for particular use cases.
  • How it is a great alternative to know competing products well.
  • How you can improve yourself or your business using your tool.

No need to brag or declare something without substantial information.

Focus on visibility, not traffic

Did you notice something about the last example? You “rank highly” on Google’s Bard answers solely by a name or brand mention that way.

Sure, it’s still hypothetical, but one thing seems to be sure now: the vanity metric of search traffic will be less important in the future.

Instead, people will get recommendations directly from Google Bard and then buy your product on Amazon or where it’s the cheapest instead of visiting your site.

Or maybe you will get the traffic nonetheless when you’re selling your products or services exclusively – after all.

Google will recommend you, and then people will still have to search or click links in case they are provided.

Your online visibility, in general, will be the decisive metric either way.

So it’s less about visits and more about visibility now. It’s similar to the change when people stopped going to brick-and-mortar stores and started visiting online stores.

Now you don’t even have to visit websites in many cases. You will probably be assisted in buying directly on Google.

Yet Google will get its answers from the web, so you will have to be mentioned elsewhere – not just on your own site.

Google’s Bard is both a menace and an opportunity

So let’s recap: Google’s Bard may indeed affect search behavior in some very significant ways. Is this good or bad news?

Well, it’s bad and menacing if you frantically cling to the past and insist on staying in your brick-and-mortar store, metaphorically speaking.

Barnes and Noble were not fast enough to embrace the web, and thus upstarts Amazon outpaced them easily.

It’s also good news! Now is another moment of great opportunity. Those who optimize for AI features even without vanity metrics backing up their efforts may be the next winners.

Thus it’s better to embrace Google Bard now as an SEO, or you may end up being too late to the party.

Gender pay gap persists: Men earn 26% more than women in search marketing

In (not) a shocking twist, men earn an average of 26% more than women in search marketing, according to a new Search Engine Land survey.

In particular, men earn significantly more than women in senior positions.

Additionally, the data revealed that women were more likely to have changed jobs or received promotions more recently than men, highlighting the ongoing churn in the job market.

This article will dive deeper into the survey’s key findings, examining the implications for professionals and organizations in the surveyed regions.

Overall, men earned 26% more than women. Despite advances in gender equality and the growing number of highly competent and qualified female marketing professionals, it remains a pervasive problem.

Men earn 26% more than women
  • Men: $105,250
  • Women: $83,265

These results, based on a sample size of 267 individuals, suggest that gender pay inequality remains a persistent issue in the surveyed regions.

This pay gap can be attributed to a combination of factors, including:

  • Systemic biases.
  • A lack of transparency in compensation policies.
  • The underrepresentation of women in senior leadership roles.

Men in senior positions earn nearly 30% more than women. Continuing on the last result, we found that men in senior positions earn nearly 30% more than women in similar roles.

Men in senior positions earn nearly 30% more than women.

For senior and management positions, the average salary for men was 7% more than women, the data revealed:

  • Men: $81,032
  • Women: $75,793

However, the gap widened significantly in the average salary for VP/C-level positions:

  • Men: $154,905
  • Women: $121,305

That’s a 28% difference.

Why the disparity? These findings, based on a sample size of 128 individuals, highlight that income inequality often stems from deep-rooted systemic biases, workplace discrimination, and entrenched cultural norms that favor men in leadership roles.

It can also be exacerbated by the “glass ceiling” effect, where women face invisible barriers to advancement and are consequently underrepresented in top management positions.

As a result, the gender pay gap in senior roles perpetuates the gender power imbalance within organizations, undermining the principles of fairness and equal opportunity.

55% of women were promoted or changed jobs in the last 12 months, vs. 47% of men. The survey results indicate that women were more likely to have changed jobs or received promotions more recently than men.

Women changed jobs / promoted more recently than men.

The data showed that among the respondents, 55% of women had received a promotion or switched jobs within the last year, compared to 47% of men.

Specifically, 20% of women had done so within the last 6 months, while 33% had done so within the last 6-12 months. In contrast, only 19% of men had done so within the last 6 months, and 28% had done so within the last 6-12 months.

These results are based on a sample size of 267 individuals and suggest that women may be more proactive in seeking career growth opportunities or may be experiencing turnover at a higher rate than men.

However, there are also several reasons that could support women changing jobs at a faster rate than men.

  • Work-life balance: Women often bear a disproportionate share of caregiving responsibilities for children and elderly family members. As a result, they may need to leave jobs in search of more flexible working conditions or to focus on their families.
  • The gender pay gap: Women may become frustrated by the persistent wage gap and leave their jobs to pursue better, more equitable opportunities elsewhere.
  • Lack of advancement opportunities: The “glass ceiling” effect can limit women’s career progression, leading to frustration and a decision to seek better prospects in other companies or industries.
  • Workplace discrimination and harassment: Experiences of gender-based discrimination, bias, or harassment can create a hostile work environment, prompting women to leave their jobs in search of more inclusive and supportive workplaces.
  • Career breaks: Women are more likely to take career breaks for family reasons, such as maternity leave, which can impact their long-term job stability and tenure.
  • Insufficient support systems: Many workplaces lack adequate policies and support systems that address the unique challenges faced by women, such as maternity leave, childcare assistance, and flexible working arrangements.

Men are slightly more satisfied with their current roles. Both women and men reported high levels of satisfaction with their current roles, according to the survey results. However, women reported slightly higher when it came to “extreme satisfaction” levels compared to men:

  • Extremely satisfied in their roles: 27% of women; 24% of men.
  • Somewhat satisfied: 45% of women; 56% of men.

The proportion of women and men who were neutral or somewhat unsatisfied was similar:

  • Women: 11% and 14%, respectively.
  • Men: 10% and 9%, respectively.

Only a small percentage of both men and women reported being not satisfied with their current roles.

Women and men are satisfied with their current roles, men slightly more so.

These results, based on a sample size of 267 individuals, suggest that overall, professionals in the surveyed regions are content with their current positions, although there may be some slight differences between genders.

Why men may be more satisfied. A few possible reasons:

  • Higher pay: Men tend to earn more than women on average due to the existing gender pay gap. This financial advantage can lead to increased job satisfaction, as they may feel fairly compensated for their work.
  • Career advancement opportunities: Men are often more likely to be promoted and hold leadership positions within organizations, which can lead to increased job satisfaction due to greater decision-making power, autonomy, and a sense of accomplishment.
  • Lower caregiving responsibilities: In many societies, men have traditionally had fewer caregiving responsibilities, allowing them to focus more on their careers. This can lead to a greater sense of professional achievement and satisfaction.
  • Greater representation: Men often see more representation in their respective industries, which can contribute to a sense of belonging and validation, thus enhancing job satisfaction.
  • Workplace culture: Men may experience fewer instances of gender-based discrimination or harassment in the workplace, which can create a more comfortable and supportive environment, leading to increased job satisfaction.
  • Societal expectations: Men may experience less pressure to balance work and family life, as societal norms have historically assigned primary caregiving roles to women. This may allow them to focus more on their careers, leading to higher job satisfaction.

About the data. The data was collected between Jan. 11 and 23:

  • 510 total responses – most did not answer all questions.
  • 65% from North America, 20% from Western Europe and 13% from elsewhere.
  • All salary results were based on data from individuals in North America/Western Europe.

Why SEOs should focus on creating trust

While trust is not a new marketing concept, it does not get the attention it deserves in most SEO strategies.

This article will break down the overlooked importance of trust in SEO efforts and how to incorporate trust-building into your strategy.

Overlooking the value of trust is a missed SEO opportunity

Fellow Search Engine Land contributor Andrew Holland expressed dismay over his bad user experience with a UK-based retail brand. He felt they “didn’t show up” when he needed them as a customer, which in turn blemished his trust in the brand.

Instead of ranting (as I would have), he used the experience as an opportunity to educate, stressing the importance of trust and how it affects SEO.

When people do not trust you and your website, they won’t buy, come back and recommend your products and services.

The retail website Holland referred to has been his go-to for many years, so he might give it another chance.

But for most websites, losing a user’s trust once means losing them as a customer forever.

Google on the importance of trust

The original Google PageRank algorithm measures trust to some extent. Trust is also incorporated into Google algorithms with an increased focus on user experience (UX) and website security.

Trust is also a central component in how Google assesses content quality for search.

Time and again, Google has reiterated the importance of E-A-T on “Your money or your life” (YMYL) topics like health, safety and financial advice.

In December, Google’s revised quality rater guidelines (QRG) for search introduced the updated E-E-A-T concept while emphasizing that  “trust” is at the center of the search and is the “most important member of the E-E-A-T family.”

As E-E-A-T signals are among the main elements that Google ranking systems determine, we can safely assume that trust impacts SEO in manifold ways.

SEO tips for making a trustworthy website

Making your site more trustworthy for searchers and search engines benefits your brand.

Below are tips for improving the overall trust in your site that often affect Google rankings.

1. Name, brand and URL

Use an actual name or brand for your website URL (i.e., brand.com). Choose a trustworthy URL structure that is short, simple and conventional.

Also, consider the following:

  • Top-level domain (TLD): Opt for “.com” is still the most trusted TLD (a recent Yandex code leak also supports this).
  • Branding: Steer away from exact match domains with many hyphens (e.g., best-seo-company-usa.biz).

Make sure your website URL is readable. Compare this…

  • example.com/seo/creating-trust

…with this…

  • best-seo-company-usa.biz/seo-blog/creating-trust-a-core-role-of-seo

2. Clean and working UX

Holland’s example of misguided infinite scroll (plus his inability to catch the footer links) is a concrete example of annoying UX.

Think of the elements that affect the trust on-page. How can you make a good impression from the start?

Simple navigation

Mega-menus and interactive menus showing numerous items on mouse over and completely hidden “hamburger menus” are not helpful. Straightforward site navigation is best.

Clean site structure

A clear information architecture follows when you have a clean and simple menu structure.

However, feature creep happens and ongoing additions can make a site confusing quickly.

When in doubt, implement breadcrumb navigation to show visitors where they are at any given moment.

White space

Is your site cluttered and filled with widgets, related stories and ads all vying for the visitor’s attention?

You might be overwhelming users who just landed on your website. They won’t hesitate to leave.

Adding white space (negative space) makes your website readable.

Working links

On WordPress, you can install a broken links plugin that automatically checks whether your links work as intended. Some external links do not break but are redirected to parking or rogue sites.

Static sites need to use a website crawler like Screaming Frog occasionally to find out whether their links still work.

3. Content

In the earlier example, Holland sought helpful content to make the right purchase decisions.

When users know your website offers valuable content, they are more likely to trust you with their money.

Giving something for free first (the content)

The law of reciprocity is one of human relations’ most important rules. People are willing to help when they have received something from the other party.

By delivering helpful content, you are making a good impression on people. As a result, they may even spread the word about you or make a purchase.

Expertise

An empty site that claims you are the best SEO expert around won’t be persuasive. Trust is established by showing, not telling.

Can you say something to prove your expertise on a subject matter? Then do it.

Many people hold back to protect their “trade secrets” yet lose potential customers that way.

Advice

One of the best ways to help is to offer advice. Without sharing your insights, many potential customers must look elsewhere and trust somebody else.

In the good old days of brick-and-mortar stores, you had actual clerks offering advice. This type of free service is substituted by web content.

4. Ads

Why are ads harmful when it comes to trust? Having ads on your site is among the most important negative ranking factors, as the recent Yandex code leak shows.

It’s not just Yandex. With its page layout algorithm, Google has singled out ad-heavy sites as far back as January 2012. In 2014, they went after ad-heavy sites (above the fold) with the “top-heavy algorithm.”

Moderation

Too many ads, especially animated and blinking ones, are ostracizing visitors. Display ads on your site in moderation. You are not trustworthy when your website is overloaded with ads.

Google takes this into account algorithmically. Likewise, marketers often advocate huge interstitials or overlays that hide the content. Those may grow your conversion rate by 2% but also annoy the other 98%.

How many of those will trust you enough to come back or recommend you?

Above the fold

The page layout algorithm takes care of websites that make it hard to find the actual content behind or below the myriads of ads that look like the content itself.

Use ads above the fold sparingly and clearly separate ads from unpaid content. Tricking people into clicking ads is not trustworthy.

Transparency

When showing ads, make sure to label them. It must be clear that they are ads or sponsored.

You can do so by saying “ad,” “sponsored” or “advertorial” depending on what you are talking about. In the U.S., the FTC requires such disclosures. Google does, and people want to know in the first place.

You may get fewer clicks but also more returning visitors who will trust you.

Full disclosure of conflicts of interests

Hidden ads are not as easily spotted as you might think.

Often, business people write content on behalf of their employers. It’s editorial content but still an ad or advertorial.

Sometimes it’s even harder to tell because it’s merely a mention inside a post.

Make sure to disclose affiliations when in doubt. You might look biased but also more trustworthy.

Affiliate links

Affiliations are often simply links to Amazon or other partner sites.

Over the years, many bloggers linked to Amazon without telling readers they get a commission from the number one ecommerce site.

Thus I stopped reading most blogs that pushed books without telling me they earn money that way. Instead, I trusted those that didn’t.

5. Real humans behind the site

In the era of all-pervading AI and redundant content, showing that real people are behind a business is more important than ever.

Real people who are “trustworthy” are often still the decisive factor in whether someone wants to do business with you.

Some people trust written words, while others want to see you and literally look you in the eyes.

About us page

Your About page should tell them why they should trust you. So you show them your team.

It’s not about whether they look good, but whether real humans are behind your company.

Ideally, you also list reasons why they should trust you. Think of credentials, industry backgrounds, and awards

Author bio

Unless you have only a single author on your blog or website, you might want to add author bios to each published article. The more “real” you look, the better.

Even single-author blogs can benefit from them. Personally, I’m not particularly eager to post images online. I also use an illustration based on a photo as my avatar on social media, but I published a recent photo in Search Engine Land.

Real team photos (no stock photography)

Many website owners go the cheap and easy way of showing stock photos suggesting that the people pictured are part of the team.

A professional photographer might help and the investment will pay off in future sales.

In local search results, stock photos are already banned. Google can identify such images and probably also discounts them in general search, too.

Unique, subjective take

Many businesses tend to publish completely impersonal press release type of content full of buzzwords. Numerous departments had approved such noisy content before barely any signal was left in it.

Real human mistakes or biases might be more trustworthy than aloof meaninglessness. As Google aims to reward “first-hand experience,” consider sharing a subjective opinion rather than just an amorphous mix that makes everyone happy.

6. Security and safety measures

Safety and security are often the first things people look at when deciding whether to trust a website or business.

Does the site look sketchy? Then they don’t even bother.

Google has long ago introduced corresponding ranking signals and made them more critical over the years.

SSL (encryption)

HTTPS websites are by now standard for ecommerce. Google uses encryption as “minor ranking factor” officially

Given their extensive documentation on the subject, we can deduce it’s more important than that.

Even informational websites use SSL or other encryption, especially when sending potentially private data through contact forms.

You get a rather small boost from Google, but visitors will be glad to see they are on a secure site.

Trust symbols (badges, reviews, testimonials)

Most SEO agencies display their “Google Partner” badges on their websites. While it works to establish trust for some people, experts know that you get that badge for buying ads.

So you might want to add other relevant badges and trust symbols like verifiable reviews and testimonials with real names on your homepage.

In the U.S., the Better Business Bureau has a seal of approval. It’s not a direct ranking factor, but the QRGs mention it often.

When all your on-page reviews are five stars and enthusiastic, I won’t trust them at all.

Privacy policy

Sure, most people don’t read privacy policies, especially those in legalese.

They have to exist, though. Work on making them findable and readable on the website.

You already lose trust if your privacy policy is hidden somewhere and full of fine print.

For some types of sites (e.g., health, online dating and financial services), your privacy policy should be perfect, not just something for lawyers to study.

No tracking

Once I realized how invasive trackers and cookies were, I removed all of them from my site.

Then I used third-party tools to locate hidden third-party trackers from Google, Facebook and other web giants.

Tracking your visitors might be off-putting depending on your business whereabouts and what you offer.

Most websites want you to agree to numerous trackers and cookies upon entry, making it difficult to opt-out. You can gain trust immediately by not having any trackers on your site.

In action: Optimizing for search and displaying trust

Back to Holland’s suggestion: I was surprised to find content and advice among the most important ways of establishing trust. Usually, most of the other options I listed above get highlighted first.

He even created a chart showing the impact trust can have on sales:

Building trust - Andrew Holland

He goes beyond what usually is meant by trust in the SEO sense by focusing on content creation for informational purposes. He concludes:

  • “… a lack of content and rankings has certainly lost my trust. Are they losing the trust of others?”

This is the type of SEO I have practiced myself successfully for years.

I was usually over-sharing my expertise on blogs and social media to establish trust and thus often got opportunities that way.

Many people in SEO work for well-known brands or “Fortune 500” companies behind closed doors after signing NDAs and simply share their credentials by mentioning some brand names they worked for.

Yet we have no way of verifying their expertise. What exactly have they done? Did it push the brand forward?

This is also the kind of trust-building Holland means to some extent. Trustworthy brands can gain additional revenue by offering advice to potential customers, as demonstrated in his example.

Establishing trust: A core competency for SEO practitioners

Who is responsible for establishing trust on a website?

  • The design alias UX department to some extent.
  • The content team as well.
  • The dev team has to implement some technologies like SSL.

Yet the SEO is the ideal person to coordinate those efforts, especially looking for potential issues others overlooked.

I bet the UX team loved the infinite scroll. It may bring some earnings, but at the expense of a broken website and annoyed visitors. You know it isn’t worth it.

Choosing a Criminology College

Home Business Magazine Online

Choosing your college should be a fun activity, but it will be something that will have an impact on the next few years of your life and your future career. First, when choosing a college, you need to know what subjects you want to study. Even if you have yet to decide on this fully, you can begin looking at colleges.

How to Choose Your School

If you have decided on a specific course or major, then choose a college that specializes in the major you have chosen. Making the choice in this order will help you to ensure you choose the school based on what is best for the subject you wish to study.

The best way to do this is to check the school options for the course you wish to study. You can find this by using a simple internet search, such as criminology colleges in the country, state, or territory that you want to study in. This will give you a list of the colleges that offer the course or subject that you want to study.

Alternatively, you can use a website such as authority.org, which gives a wealth of information about colleges nationwide. Included on the website are college information, rankings, and career guides so you can view whatever information you need to help you decide on your college.

Things to Consider

When deciding which college you are going to attend, there are many considerations to make. The importance of each will depend on your priorities. If you have a specific subject you wish to study, then you should filter colleges based on the subject. This is the easiest way to remove colleges you will not want to attend as your course is not available.

If you have yet to choose your subject or major, you will need to filter colleges on other factors. You could choose based on location instead, and if you want to stay close to home, you can search for colleges in your local area. However, if you would like to go to a college close to where your friends are going to be studying, you can search close to where they will be. You can also look at the college they will be attending to check if there are courses you are interested in at that college.

Using the authority.org website can also help you to choose by giving you a summary of specific colleges based on your criteria. You can view a number of statistics to aid you in deciding if a college is the one that you want to study at.

Whichever criteria you choose to use to determine which college you are going to attend, it is important that you give yourself enough time to make the decision. This will allow you to attend campus tours, talk to current students, and apply with enough time. College is an important part of your life, and you will only succeed if the course and college you choose is the right one for you.

With multi-camera live-streaming technology, the possibilities for live-streaming content are endless. Here, you can find the best multi-camera for live streaming on the market: https://www.razer.com/pc/streaming/kiyo-family.

Live streaming with multiple cameras is an increasingly popular tool for businesses and organizations to create engaging content for their audiences. With the help of multiple cameras, businesses can easily create high-quality, immersive live streams. Here are the advantages of using multi-camera live streaming that businesses should consider:

Improved Video Quality with Multiple Angles

Using a multi-camera live stream setup can dramatically improve the video quality of your broadcast. With multiple angles, you can capture different perspectives to produce a dynamic, engaging experience for your viewers. Whether you’re shooting from the stage, the audience, or even an aerial view, you can create a visual masterpiece that’s sure to impress. Having the ability to switch between angles and perspectives on the fly allows for a much more engaging experience for the viewer, rather than having to settle for just one static shot.

Cost Efficiency of Using Multiple Cameras

The cost efficiency of using multiple cameras is just one of the reasons why they can be so beneficial. With a multi-camera setup, you can get more angles and shots in less time, which can save on both production costs and staff.

You can also make use of remote cameras to capture shots from different perspectives and locations, as well as use a variety of lenses and lighting to create interesting effects. By using multiple cameras, you can also get more creative with your content and capture different angles and perspectives that would otherwise be impossible.

Ability to Capture More Content in Real Time

It gives you the ability to capture more content than ever before in an incredibly efficient and dynamic way. With multiple cameras running simultaneously, you can capture multiple angles of the same event, providing your audience with a truly immersive experience.

You can also capture more details and action-packed scenes from different perspectives, which can make your content truly captivating. Furthermore, you can be sure that you won’t miss any important moments or details, as you’ll be able to switch between cameras quickly and easily.

Increased Production Value with Multiple Camera Views

Using multiple cameras to live stream an event can add a whole new level of production value to the production. Instead of having a single camera view, you can have multiple angles to capture the event from all sides. This allows you to show a more engaging experience to your audience, as they can feel like they’re right there in action. With multiple cameras, you can mix and match angles to create a truly unique and captivating live stream.

TikTok introduces a “Series” feature enabling creators to sell premium episodes

TikTok is now looking to expand its content offerings by allowing creators to sell premium episodes of their shows directly to viewers.

How it works. The new feature, which is still in the testing phase, would allow TikTok users to purchase access to exclusive episodes of their favorite series, with creators setting their own prices for the content. The move is seen as a way for TikTok to compete with other streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, which already offer a wide range of original programming.

While the new feature is currently only available to a limited number of creators, it has the potential to completely transform the way that content is monetized on TikTok. By allowing creators to earn money directly from their viewers, the platform is giving them a new incentive to produce high-quality content and build loyal fan bases.

The downsides. At the same time, however, the move could also have some unintended consequences. By introducing a paywall for certain types of content, TikTok could create a divide between creators who can afford to produce premium episodes and those who cannot. It could also create a situation where users are bombarded with advertisements and other forms of monetization, making the platform less enjoyable to use overall.

Despite these potential pitfalls, however, the new feature is a sign that TikTok is serious about expanding its content offerings and becoming a major player in the streaming market. Whether it will be successful remains to be seen.

Why we care. The new feature of allowing creators to sell premium episodes represents a significant shift in the way that content is monetized on the platform. This move could potentially create a new revenue stream for creators, which in turn could lead to the creation of higher-quality content that attracts more viewers.

For advertisers, this presents a unique opportunity to reach a highly engaged audience and establish a strong presence on the platform. As the world of online content creation continues to evolve, advertisers who stay ahead of the curve are most likely to succeed in the long run.
