Generate more newsletter subscribers. With LinkedIn Newsletters, you can publish recurring Articles and build a subscriber community via a one-time notification to your Page followers and ongoing notifications to your Newsletter subscribers.

If a member searches for your profile they should be able to easily find and subscribe to your newsletter. LinkedIn also suggests incorporating SEO best practices by optimizing your article titles, descriptions, and tags. LinkedIn will also automatically send your new followers a notification to subscribe.

Product pages. Your products can now be discovered via an in-platform search on LinkedIn. Buyers can search by product, company, or category to discover what they’re looking for. You can also use product highlights to showcase specific product content on your Page and point interested members to key details and conversations. You can also re-share content from your product community to your Page and add posts to your product highlights.

Competitor analytics dashboard. There is a new upgrade to the LinkedIn Pages Competitor Analytics dashboard that is now available on desktop and mobile, which can help you understand what competitors are doing and set your brand apart. You can now:

  • Track follower growth, recent posts, and engagement rates to see what your competitors are talking about and how members are responding, while also benchmarking your own content creation efforts.
  • Quickly surface trending content from competitors to stay on top of what’s happening in your industry and inspire your own content strategy.

Why we care. B2B brands and advertisers managing pages on LinkedIn should test and use these new tools to make the most out of their profiles. Since many brands may be rethinking their social strategies, companies should optimize the platform’s new features to gain first-party data with newsletter signups, as well as new ecommerce options and competitor metrics.

Matt Oddo Discusses the Latest Technology Impacting the Construction Industry

Home Business Magazine Online

The construction industry has been impacted dramatically by technology in recent years. Experts like Matt Oddo in Franklin, Tennessee, say with the advent of new technologies such as 3D printing and drones, construction companies can now build things faster and more efficiently than ever. This article will examine some of the latest technologies impacting the construction industry.

Construction Tech Is Improving Project Management

Matt Oddo says GPS tracking, 3D imaging, and other technological advancements make it easier for construction managers to oversee projects. Construction workers in the field can use GPS tracking to input their work progress data, which their manager can view in real-time. This helps managers ensure that projects are on track and scheduled.

Additionally, 3D imaging is used to create virtual models of construction sites. This allows managers to understand better the work that needs to be completed and identify potential problems before they occur.

Construction Companies Are Using Drones

Construction companies use drones to inspect work progress, survey land, and assess potential hazards. For example, drones can be used to check high areas of a construction site that would otherwise be dangerous for workers to access.

By using drones to survey land for construction projects, companies save time and money by getting an accurate picture of the land before starting work. Drones can also assess potential hazards on construction sites. Construction companies can take measures to prevent accidents.

Virtual Reality Is Training the Next Generation of Construction Workers

Virtual reality is being used to train the next generation of construction workers. Students can put on VR headsets and be transported into a virtual world to learn how to operate heavy machinery, use power tools, and more. This allows students to gain experience without putting themselves in danger.

Additionally, VR can be used for job site orientation so that new employees can get an idea of their work environment before starting their first day on the job.

How to Implement the Latest Technology in Your Construction Business

The key to successfully implementing the latest technologies in construction is to identify how they can improve your business. Think about what areas of your business could benefit from a technological upgrade, and then look for available solutions.

Matt Oddo says to research the technology available and assess which would best suit your operations. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from other professionals in the industry if you need guidance once you’ve chosen the right technology, train employees on how to use it properly.

By taking advantage of the latest technologies available, construction companies can improve their operations and remain competitive in today’s market. With the right technology, construction businesses can stay ahead of the curve and maximize their efficiency and productivity.

The Benefits of Technology on the Construction Industry

The construction industry has been greatly influenced by technology. In the past, the only way to build a structure was to use manual labor. This meant construction projects took a long time to complete and were often delayed due to bad weather. However, with the invention of new construction technologies, such as heavy machinery and computer-aided design software, the construction process has become much faster and more efficient.

As a result, construction companies can now complete projects in a fraction of the time it would have taken them using traditional methods. In addition, new technologies have also made it possible to build taller and more complex structures than ever before. As the construction industry continues to embrace new technologies, even more, impressive feats of engineering will likely be accomplished in the future.

How to Choose the Right Technology for Your Construction Business

Choosing the right technology for your construction business can be a daunting task. There are so many different options to choose from, it can take time to know which one best suits your needs. The first step is to assess what areas of your business need improvement and look for technology to address those needs.

Matt Oddo says once you’ve identified the technologies that could benefit your business, research and assess their features and benefits. Talk to other professionals in the industry for advice on which technology would be best suited for your operations. Finally, ensure that any technology you choose complies with applicable safety regulations. With the right technology, you can significantly improve your processes and remain competitive in the construction industry.

By embracing new technologies, construction businesses can stay ahead of the competition and maximize efficiency. With the right technology, they can complete projects faster, build larger structures, and reduce safety risks. By staying up to date with new technologies and strategically implementing them, construction companies can remain competitive and effective.

Final Thoughts

The construction industry has come a long way since manual labor was the only option for building structures. With the invention of new technologies, such as heavy machinery and computer-aided design software, the construction process has become more efficient and faster than ever before.

By taking advantage of the latest technologies available, construction companies can remain competitive in today’s market and maximize efficiency. With the right technology, they can complete projects faster, build larger structures, and reduce safety risks. By staying up to date with new technologies and strategically implementing them, construction companies can remain competitive and effective.

Business Loan Vs Credit Card – Key Considerations

Home Business Magazine Online

Starting and running a successful business costs money, and deciding when and how to borrow money is one of the most important financial decisions you’ll make as a business owner. While demand for business loans has increased by 8% in 12 months, borrowing money is a business expense that can take away from your profits and lead to instability. However, a business can invest in itself and thrive with the correct financing. Business loans and credit cards are two popular ways to give your business a much-needed cash infusion. But what are the differences between a business loan and a credit card?

Business loans

Business loans provide businesses with a lump sum that they must pay back by a certain time with interest. There are different types of business loans designed for different purposes. Small, short-term business loans can help businesses with immediate funding needs, such as purchasing stock and typically have a six to 24-month term. Long-term business loans are usually for larger amounts and provide finance for longer-term investments such as purchasing or renovating a building.

Business credit cards

A business credit card allows you to borrow up to a preset limit. You pay interest on the borrowed amount and can pay off the minimum payment each month or the full amount. The balance will accrue interest, but as you repay the money borrowed, you can draw on the funds again up to your credit limit. Some providers will also let you have employee cards linked to the business account. This type of financing is designed for short-term business financial needs, similar to a short-term loan. It can also provide you with an emergency fund which you can access quickly if required.

David Luck, co-founder and CEO of Capital on Tap says “We continue to see small businesses overlooked and underserved by the large incumbent banks. Our customers want a simple, seamless finance platform to help run their small business. Today, we see a greater need for business credit cards, spend management tools, and flexible funding in order to help them grow.”

Business loans vs credit cards

Credit cards and business loans can provide the capital you need for your business, but each has unique pros and cons to consider.

Business loans pros and cons

With a business loan, you can borrow more and over a longer period at a lower price. These loans aren’t particularly flexible and can be harder to qualify for. They also don’t tend to offer rewards.

Pros

  • Borrow larger amounts and receive the funds up front;
  • Ideal for long-term borrowing, with many lenders allowing businesses to borrow for up to five years;
  • Lower interest rates are available depending on several factors, including your credit history;
  • Useful for funding big, one-off projects such as buying new equipment or expanding the business; and
  • From the start, you’ll know how much interest you’ll be paying and how much your monthly repayments will be.

Cons

  • Limited flexibility – you’ll need to know exactly how much you need to borrow from the outset;
  • Some providers have a minimum loan amount which could be considerably more than what you need to borrow;
  • If you are a startup or have a poor credit history, you may struggle to get approved;
  • Some lenders require a personal guarantee and collateral before lending;
  • You won’t earn any rewards or perks for taking out the loan; and
  • It may not be the best option if you have cash flow issues.

Business credit cards pros and cons

Business credit cards tend to have fewer eligibility requirements, which help you improve your business’s short-term cash flow and enable you to earn rewards on your business spending. Over the medium and long term, borrowing on a credit card is much more expensive.

Pros

  • A business credit card is good for improving cash flow and occasional short-term borrowing;
  • Incredibly flexible — use it as much or as little as you need;
  • You won’t be charged interest if you pay your credit card balance in full each month;
  • Using a credit card regularly will improve your business credit score;
  • Additional business credit cards can be made available for employees;
  • Some allow you to monitor spending in real-time and set spending limits; and
  • You can earn perks and rewards on your business spending.

Cons

  • A business credit card isn’t suitable for long-term borrowing or financing a large project as it can become very expensive;
  • Annual interest rates are usually higher than business loans;
  • If you carry a balance over each month, it will cost you more; and
  • The card provider can change your credit limit at any time.

Find out more information about business credit cards and how they can help your business achieve its goals.

Business loan or credit card?

Which is better will entirely depend on your circumstances and what you want to do with the money. A business loan could be the best option if you’re looking to fund a major project or have considerable expenses. It will be cheaper, and you’ll know how much you’ll be paying in interest from the outset. You can also take a reasonably long time to repay. However, a business credit card offers much more flexibility than a business loan, can help with your business cash flow, boost your business’s credit score, and let you earn rewards if you use it regularly and clear the balance in full each month.

Guard your most valuable asset against pesky competitors by Adthena

Home Business

In an ideal world, guarding your most valuable asset, your brand, would be effortless. But take off those rose-tinted glasses, and you wake up to the reality that competitors are posing threats to your brand in search every day of the week.

You’ve risen to the top of the search rankings. Hurray! But realize your trademarks and brand equity aren’t protected in search. Booo! Thus, competitors can steal valuable clicks from you, diminish your Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and threaten future budgets.

Does this sound familiar? Are you finding it hard to fend off brand infringements?

You are not alone. Many companies find it increasingly difficult to fend off rivals using their branded terms, trademarks and ad copy in search. For example, software company Sage had over 89,000 infringements from one single partner in one year. The repercussions were more than undesirable, as they inflated CPCs and impressions and damaged the brand. The results tend to be synonymous among all industries.

This article will cover how you could automatically monitor all infringements, guard against competitors and maximize ROAS. Sounds good, right?

Before we get into the technicalities, let’s dive into the problems you may be struggling with in more detail.

What seems to be the problem, marketer?

Adthena’s customer research has revealed that search marketers are experiencing countless challenges in controlling the use of their trademarks.

Two common themes are:

  • “The process of controlling trademarks is tedious and time-consuming.”
  • “The practical difficulty of finding real-life trademark infringement examples is too difficult to do manually.”

Our research shows that you could waste around eight hours a month on collecting and processing the trademark violation data required to send to Google, as it takes around five minutes to fill out each Google complaint form.

However, there is a way to automate the aggregation and submission of specific infringements across devices at scale, allowing you to confidently protect your brand and save time and effort to boot.

We can sense you edging to the front of your chair, so let’s get to the fun part.

What’s the solution?

Automation is at the forefront of the world of paid search, with Google’s Performance Max solution heading the charge. New products are continually being developed, including a new tool from Adthena called Auto Takedown.

It allows you to map and monitor all competitive and partner activity around your brand terms. You can efficiently respond to trademark infringements and report those examples directly to Google for removal. All with the push of a button inside the Adthena app. Time and effort: saved.

internet marketing

What value does Auto Takedown bring to the table?

The tool adds value in three key ways:

  1. Automatically monitoring your brand trademark search terms at scale, 24/7.
  2. Submitting evidence of trademark violations directly to Google for you. Adthena will also keep track of the responses from Google and communicate this to you if there are any questions or resolutions.
  3. Saving you up to 8 hours per month in manual monitoring, allowing you to focus on strategy and growth instead.

After just five days of using Adthena’s Auto Takedown, Sage saw a 75% decrease in CPCs for brand terms and a 33% decrease in partner impression share.

Protect your trademark today

When the clicks are down, and you know why, take back control and fend off unwanted competitors to protect your valuable assets.

Test Data Management for Dummies

Home Business Magazine Online

Test data management (TDM) is critical for any data-driven organization to consider. Companies are increasingly adopting rapid application development techniques to deploy new applications or make significant enhancements while minimizing time and cost.

However, the lack of data management procedures in a rapid application development environment can result in data quality issues. With proper knowledge and planning, companies can avoid such problems.

We cover the basics of test data management to help you develop test plans that support your organization’s efforts.

What Is Test Data?

Test data is any set of test values designed for a test scenario. It provides how a tester can determine if the underlying application works as designed and coded.

Test data is different than production data, which is any set of real-world data that an application uses.

What Is Test Data Management?

Test data management is creating, planning, designing, and storing testing methodologies, tools, and processes. It includes the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from source systems into staging environments and the maintenance, management, cleansing, auditing, and archiving of test data.

The specific activities for test data management will vary by organization, but each organization must have a strategy to manage its test data.

3 Approaches to Test Data Preparation

You can manage test data effectively in a variety of ways. The following three approaches are practical in different situations:

Cloning Production Databases

Cloning is a simple approach to test data management. It involves duplicating production databases in staging environments and swapping them with test data programs. This approach works for organizations where You can easily clone the production databases or those with low data volume.

Generating Synthetic Test Data

Synthetic test data involves database simulation tools or scripts that generate random data and test values to create a database. This approach requires a highly skilled database administrator with a profound understanding of the database schema.

Because it is usually resource-intensive and more time-consuming, this approach works for organizations that need a high degree of control and scripting capabilities.

Subsetting Production Databases

Subsetting involves selecting a portion of a production database to copy, modify, and maintain. This approach is suitable for organizations that have moderate data volumes. It, however, still requires highly skilled resources or an automated solution.

Why Is Test Data Management Important?

Test data management is a critical but often overlooked development process. The lack of effective test data management can negatively affect an organization’s bottom line.

These six reasons demonstrate why test data management is essential:

Improved Test Data Coverage

TDM begins with proper test design and planning. The better the test data management, the higher the coverage you can achieve for a given test. Lack of test designs, poor test approach matching, and inconsistent or poor test coverage degrade a company’s ability to measure its testing efficiency and effectiveness.

Finding the Bugs Early

If you are testing with real-world data, you risk including bugs not discovered in development. Creating and storing test data separately from production environments will enable companies to know how well the application works before deployment. It also allows organizations to set up a strategy for handling future changes to those database structures.

Data Compliance and Security

With the number of data breaches rising regularly, organizations must include test data management as a critical component of their security strategy. Properly managed test data will help to ensure that test data is adequately protected from unauthorized access and minimize risk.

Reduced Copies of the Data

Test data management can be an effective way to reduce costs by reducing the redundancy of test data. You won’t need to store multiple copies of production data in staging environments or scripts.

Depending on the size of your company, this can result in significant cost savings.

Enhances Customer Trust

Organizations must enhance the user experience as they transition from traditional to agile development approaches. Customers want to know that their data is protected and you will resolve any issues with the quality promptly.

Using test data management in your processes helps prove that you’re committed to building quality in the application for your customers.

Test Data Management Challenges to Consider

It is crucial to consider the following when developing a test data management plan:

Data Validity and Consistency

The quality of the test data is affected by its validity and consistency. Data validity means that all data should be relevant for the tests. This consistency means that all data should be structured and formatted to facilitate testing.

Tests with incorrect test data may not illuminate real-world issues.

Compromised Data Privacy

In today’s highly regulated environment, data privacy is of paramount importance — conduct test data management in a secure environment to prevent unauthorized access. Create an environment where data cannot be accessed or changed by people outside of the organization.

Data Selection and Sub-setting

Data selection involves determining which records to include when preparing the test data. Subsetting is selecting test data records used for testing. The wrong combination of data may result in a distorted view of the underlying database.

Complex Data Tools and Expertise

Test data management requires sophisticated tools and expertise to ensure accurate results. You can achieve better results with the right combination of tools, technology, and workforce. However, acquiring them may be a challenge for small organizations.

Data Security Compliance

Consider the regulatory environment and changing requirements from various governing bodies. If a company does not have a well-established data security program might not meet the regulatory requirements for data privacy or protection.

5 Test Data Management Strategies

The following strategies can help you achieve the desired test data management outcomes:

Discover and Understand Test Data

The process of understanding test data requires a thorough analysis of all incoming test data. It should include defining the test objectives, identifying the causes of the defects, and determining which should consist of data in the test suite.

Subset Production Data from Multiple Sources

Select and test data from multiple sources. This process involves creating a master table with various sources, such as production databases. Compare and trigger the test data from each source to validate the integrity and accuracy of the entire data set.

Mask Sensitive Test Data

You might divulge test data in the event of unauthorized access. Masking sensitive test data can mitigate this risk and is especially helpful for compliance and regulatory requirements.

The process of masking sensitive data involves hiding the identity or other sensitive attributes of the data. For example, you can mask sensitive data with fictional data to ensure its appropriateness for testing.

Refresh Test Data

Refreshing test data involves creating a new copy of the original test data to keep it updated and protected. This process helps streamline testing and allows you to maintain a consistent, manageable test environment.

Perform Automated Tests

Automate test scripts, such as SQL queries, to execute manual tests seamlessly. These automated tests require minimal involvement from team members and can expedite execution and analysis.

Automated tests also allow you to skip unnecessary steps in the testing process and help identify problems.

The Bottom Line

Test data management determines the quality of testing and hence, the quality of the finished product. Test data must be accurate and well-organized to ensure that a product delivers the required results.

The key is to develop a successful test data management strategy consistent with your organization’s goals and objectives.
